Central Railroad of New Jersey

Probably the most interesting thing we saw along the Jersey Central, was this bridge, which would have been on a siding off the mainline. This bridge crosses the Lackawanna River, and goes over to one of the industrial buildings on the other side of the river. The Jersey Central ceased all operations in Pennsylvania on March 31, 1972.

This bridge is from the DL&W Mill Branch That came down from Taylor yard and crossed the CNJ and then the Lackawanna River on this bridge. It seved Murray Manufacturing and had a Team track in South Scranton on the west side of South Washington Ave near Cherry St.
